Getting to the end...of End-of-Level testing!

Hooray!  By Friday, April 29th, nearly all of my Language Arts 8 students will have finished their English end-of-level tests (CRT's).  I've gotten a few preliminary scores back and they look really good!

Many students have asked, "What now?"  Well, I have two main projects planned for the rest of the school year.

First, we will be working on our biography/autobiography book report.  The assignment outline and the rubric are under "important links" on my blog.  (mrsleedhms.blogspot.com)  We'll be working quite a bit during classtime on this report, so those students who have yet to choose a biography better get cracking!!!  The official due dates are Friday, May 13 (B-day students) and Monday, May 16 (A-day students).

Our final assignment for the year will be a creative writing activity called a "frame story."  It's a fun flashback/flash-forward kind of story which we will be getting into more detail in class soon.

I have been--and continue to be--so very impressed by my students.  Most are hard-working, caring, and positive people who I am proud to know.  :)  Enjoy the rest of April!
